Samsung wants to sell 10 million 3D TVs this year

Samsung wants to sell 10 million 3D TVs this year
It seemed that Samsung is on a super roll. Rumours have it that Apple is inking a super mega big deal with them on the purchase of screens and NAND and some others, and Samsung has been hoping their new Galaxy S II will outsell their previous Galaxy S, which has been sold millions. Now, they’re planning to sell 10 million 3D TVs this year, up five times from the two million it sold last year. LG, its domestic rival, is planning to sell some 5 million. Now, it’s unclear whether this increase in sales will come as a result of consumer demand for 3D or simply because almost all new TVs will be 3D-capable, but we’re hoping that pesky 3D content problem will get a lot better once more people can actually view it, but how many people actually wants to wear a glass every time they watch some movies at home?

Disable Windows Search Integration in Internet Explorer

If you wish to disable IE’s Windows Search integration, use these steps:
Start Internet Explorer, click Tools (ALT+T), click Internet Options
Select the Content tab.
Under AutoComplete, click the Settings button.

Uncheck Use Windows Search for better results, and click OK

Now "Internet Explorer History" is removed from the "Included Locations" listing in Indexing Options. (Indexing Options can be accessed from Control Panel, or by running the command "Control srchadmin.dll")

Hidden Registry Settings for the “Send to” Menu in Windows 7
The Send To menu in Windows allows you to quickly send a file to different locations including a floppy disk, CD-RW/DVD-RW, or to a third-party application. We’ve covered a few articles on the "Send To" menu before, and here are the three new and undocumented registry edits that can be used in Windows 7.

This Giving Tree will charge all your pods and droids
What a weird and funny concept this is. Designed by Kim Joonmin and Jeong-a Choi, the Giving Tree concept allows you to charge multiple mobile devices simultaneously, which obviously includes all your iOS devices. The Giving Tree charger looks like a plastic tree and provides several connectors that can be attached to your gadgets. Well, it is still a concept at this moment. Does look slightly awkward, but if you change the green cables to some other colors, and give it a good posh touch, it should sell well.

RIM still top in the market, but is shrinking badly

RIM still top in the market, but is shrinking badly

RIM still top in the market, but is shrinking badlyThere are so many companies out there taking statistics that sometimes we get multiple sources conflict each other. Still, it’s a good reference nonetheless to get a glimpse of the market and its numbers. According to a report by comScore, the firm claimed that RIM is still the no.1 market holder, but the size of the pie has greatly shrunk all thanks to Android and iPhone. Its market share dropped from 37.3% to 31.6%. I’m surprised not many RIM owners jumping ship over to the touchscreen camps.
Apple gained share, but not enough to maintain its lead over Google, which is the new no.2. Android had 28.7% share (up from 21.4%), and Apple had 25% (up from 24.3%). Oddly, Microsoft’s market share dropped from 9.9% to 8.4% despite releasing its new Windows Phone 7.
Of course, this market share specifically says iPhone, not iOS, which mean it’s referring to smartphone only. Also, specifically comparing Apple’s iPhone to Google’s Android is not a very accurate method, as many manufacturers like Samsung and LG and HTC carries Google’s Android OS, which help widen the market share too. It seemed that every company with a soldering iron is making Android phones these days. If we compare specifically then the numbers would be different altogether.

RIM still top in the market, but is shrinking badly
I’m saying this in reference to Tim Morgan at The Register:
Nokia was still the top maker of smartphones in 2010, but its growth is fading compared to Apple, whose iPhone is growing share like a weed. Nokia, which is apparently in the midst of a massive management shakeup, cranked out 28.3 million smartphones in Q4, rising 36.1 per cent over the prior year. But that was less than half the growth rate of Apple, which shot up by 86.2 per cent to 16.2 million units, bypassing Research in Motion to take the number two spot in smartphones. RIM came in third in Q4, with 36.4 per cent growth, to 14.6 million units sold.
